No Github, “tasty-umbrella” is not an accurate description of my CTL-C/V/ Ai Slop!

That file path, it is standard, Kudos if you know what it is from, it means you are deep in into the weeds of #IT
Its just the wording. Many many many people have pointed this out.
“Dump”? You mean you have some sort of hyper critical infrastructure running 24/7 burring hundreds of dollars in resources, that people rely on. AND YOU CALLED THE FOLDER DUMP. How about you go dump yourself. You couldn’t name it “backup”? No, you called it what we also call the receptacle where we dump literal trash, like moldy oranges, half eaten pizza, and broken toasters.
Sweet summer child… This is IT, if it makes sense you are doing it wrong!
Its an “unwritten rule” in the tech world that “Purple Octopus” is in fact a proper name for your code base that will be shown to potential employers.
This has turned into an actual #opinion oh no… I didn’t mean for it too. Honest.
The names to me. in tech, like “clone-zilla” is a good one #clonezilla ifykyk about the block level magic of clone zilla. A real story, I used it without thinking on someone, ( I don’t do “general IT” that much). It worked so well at cloning his old HDD to an SSD that when he unlocked it, it still had his browser session from when he dropped it off! Amazing. Total clone, down to the browser session. #FOSS for the win.
Its named after a freaking mutant radioactive lizard from a movie.. Do you get what I mean?
I am “beating a dead horse”. My opinion is.. it is because tech sort of NEEDS narrative assists like GODZILLA… CLONEZILLA…
It helps us wrap out heads around things. Stories, instead of calling it “copy tool y”. It is also branding, but it is character. In software in digital media in all arts, structural design, any craft. The branding says something, but it does mean something as well. The company settled on this for a reason…
GitHub does the goofy names too.. Every time you open a repo what does it say… Literally “cactus-destroyer” like its utilitarian but it is also kind of silly. Why not default to “repo-123”. The same reasons you don’t name your classes in the code 1 2 3. Because it would be horrible to remember and read!
Stories can tell us things about something without explicitly naming it. Whether that thing follows threw… That is determined in the field haha.
Stories, or implied nuance, can be created with a simple world like “ZILLA” because it triggers all of these pre conceived ideas.
Conclusion
Its Friday, I just need remind people that their entire company worth millions of dollars and hundreds of people rely on for food… We keep your backups in a file labeled “dump” using a tool called “super-duper-backup-dumper_V3”.
So when you wonder why we show up in a hoodie and flip flops, well.. if you saw it, it really seems like the logical solution.
Que the Jenga meme with the one block holding the entire thing up. here Ill make it again.
This is honestly unoriginal, sue me. I just like #meme
Credit to https://xkcd.com/ who is the creator of this template. Its been used how many millions of times? Imagine how many times this image has popped up haha. He is still making #webcomics I need to look into them more. I used to read Dilbert and Garfield for hours. #ramble over.
Bet he was not the first one to see it. That is a lesson of art I learned from my mom, pretty much everything is “unoriginal” if you look deep enough. Its not a problem but a trend we see…
I am a simple boring man hahaha. Just an observation before some trolololo points it out the the class.
