Buckle up, you’re gonna need the ol’ tin foil hat for this one…
Simulation Theory
IDk if “simulation” is the correct word. I have not read any “official” papers on the topic. I have heard it thrown around on the internet and in real life from time to time.
It boils down usually to simply the feeling we all have sometimes that we are “in a simulation” but to me that always seems so vague.
Self Domestication
This, is a term I have sort of came up with. After reading a paper on how the brain mass of animals shrinks when they are “domesticated”. It really made me think about the implications of removing environmental stress from a being.
I feel in the modern world. Humans have simply achieved the ability to “self-domesticate”.
THE POINT IS…
I wanted to write this because I feel these concepts are connected. I have been thinking about these ideas for weeks.
I think in 2026 we are all “living in a simulation” however, there is nothing “tin foil hat” about it. We construct our lives. If you observe your life from the perspective of like a bird, or an animal. The things a modern human does are of their own design. Mostly.
We are not bound by primal needs. Simply most of us have a “surplus” of life’s essentials. Even the youngest are able to accumulate huge amounts of resources.
It creates a beautiful opportunity for us to expand. However, it also presents a pitfall.
We All Own It!
The problem I see, myself included, we “own it” in kind of a strange way. If you are not careful the way you chose to “create your simulation” in the modern world. There are no guard rails anymore I think. They are totally gone!
You want to spend 10 hours per day watching pimple popping videos? Knock yourself out, there is only so much at your finger tips you could scroll for 20 years and never find the end.
You want to study the human genome and spend 4000 hours manually contributing to some strange little nuance that might only be relevant to 1 person but who knows maybe you even authentically do something amazing.
The classic… Hobbies, you thought you liked your hobbies? Well you thought you did, until you went online and found you are actually on level 1 of 50. There are people claiming to have taken this thing to places you cannot even imagine. The kicker, there is more people than you can even find!
These concepts are not new. I am kind of boring…
The thing I want to make clear is, its gotten to the point I almost like “prescribe myself life”.
You see, I feel, myself at least, is wired for the “path of least resistance” naturally, I would like to sit on the couch and eat ice cream all day. However, I would have not made it past the age of 10 had that been where my nature stopped. That is the core idea here.
I believe, it is healthy what I do, I simply have been trying too, not let myself become “domesticated” essentially. Literally just tweak your “simulation” to have it be good? Does that sound so crazy?
LIFE IS SORT OF BORING
You remember where we came from? Before the dinosaurs even. There was just freaking dirt. For millions and millions of years on the ground you are standing on… All there was was dirt.
It started to move. Then it started to cook the other things that moved. Then it started to type and that’s where the wheels started to fall off the apple cart haha.
This is just a #Saturday #ramble . My views, I really like to look into these things without being to attached.
What applying this information has lead to, for myself
The information that if we do not, as individuals and as a whole, fight to maintain our naturally won biological structures, including our brains. If we do not use our bodys and our minds there is data to show they start to vanish from underneath us.
It is not a burden but a duty then to keep what I have been given. To simply let it have what it needs. Because if I do not, it will leave me.
So I eat the broccoli, I go for the jog. I clean the dishes. Because simply, those things keep my body going. They keep my simulation in line and make the structures that took thousands of years to develop happy!
The 60/40 effort rule
They say, when you are exercising, your body will want to give up when it in reality is holding onto at least 60% of what is “in the tank”. Now, a body is not a car with a gas tank. However, I agree with the sentiment.
One of the things in all of us is a tendency to “tap out”. It is healthy! Without it we wouldn’t make it very far. The problem is, anymore, tapping out is so easy, we must force ourselves to not, I believe.
Conclusion
Go build your simulation! Fill it with whatever you want! You have so so many choices in the modern world.
Life is what you make it. So cheesy but its true, I have seen it!
