I think i remember doing a report on Ford in elementary school. ANYWAY. Did you know the has books? I did not. It has a lot of good ones. I found “my life and work” by Henry Ford.

I have been glued to it for days. Half way done, I am compelled to share this new source of . You can go to archive.org and simply click the books tab. You must make an account.

They have it setup where you “borrow books” digitally. I assume from a copyright perspective it is like a library. Where once license is owned but shared.

Back to Ford

I am only half way done. But can already file this one in the “you gotta read it bro” category. The guy, his ideas, they are simply “refreshing”. To me at least.

The ideas he shares about work, pay, what to value in business. The shortcomings of men and ways to mitigate them.

He roasts laziness and institutional inefficiency. Reading the book makes you want to get up and build something!

Some ideas I like

Hahaha, he called all the bankers who collect fees on nothing the root of all evils. He talks of men who think they deserve based off position rather than production. He said they existed then and they will always.

He has this sort of “man vs the world” undertone. Everything comes back to an individual in a system. He wont shut up about “results oriented business”.

The guy seems obsessed with the fact that if a business produces goods at a fair price it will be successful. However, he constantly pushes that into “how can we provide more for less”. Making the results of his business more valuable to the consumer at a lower price. As a way of definitively earning value compared to rivals.

“kill em with math” sort of stuff. I love that.

Books still hit the spot

There is something about a book. It is another persons framework for… Something. Some person wrote it all. Even if it is a “stinker”. My life and work by Ford is not a stinker. Not in my opinion.

They let you see another persons, sloppy at times, but in the end contiguous, views of “something”.

Happy Labor day weekend

I labor, but I like to read too. Because labor without purpose is worthless. I now have ford to back me up haha. These men who proved themselves in the forge of economics. There are many, they left books for us, I have read many others. Every-time they teach something.

Trades and the ecconomy teach too. They teach if you did not pack the correct drill bit, you are gonna be hungry. I just wish everyone was on the same page…
