I am a techy. Oh but wait before I give myself any title in the field of tech I must have at least 3 peer code reviews before I can adorn my simply human with something like a “title of someone who knows something about IT”.

You know, I failed out of College so really I am only qualified to wash dishes. The hundreds of thousands of dollars I’ve made as an IT contractor are imaginary and all from cons I have pulled on my “clients”

Well at least that is what LinkedIn has lead me to believe…

Tasteful use of Ai GO

Here we go, I’m just going to start by pissing everyone off. Ai code will be in every app you use and build by the end of the decade. Deal with it.

Ok now that the idiots have rage quit we can get into the subject at hand… How to use it tastefully and how to communicate with the new class of developers who have never manually typed a { and not because they are being lazy… But because thats where this is going.

The reason, at least personally it has been such a dramatic shock to my systems, the internet has become saturated. Ai malware was deployed on a client a few weeks ago. I have been watching server logs for weeks. I can tell you by not being in corporate America… Ai code is out there and its just getting bigger.

Clients ask for it specifically. They are excited to know ot is being used.

So this is the line. And guess what its the same line that has always been. At least im my field from my point of view.

Simply some people will ship crap, and others will not. It is always going to be upto the individual to check thier work.

We have not been manually typing up websites for 20 years people. Some people have been kicking and screaming this whole time over how code abstractions have taken over the old ways. Then themselves will rely on abstracted libarys of the same primitives just to stay competitive.

I don’t say these things for any reason other than this is what I see. That is why I blog, to share what I see, so mabye someone else who thinks the same can have validation, because ideas at the edge can be so lonley.

Anyway, Tasteful. What do I mean. I mean you can ask an agent on a server to vomit out a website and ship it with 20% markup… OR you can use LLMs to enhance your abilitys or walk you threw something new. In the same ways as before just quicker and without dogma.

Lets talk about Art. For code, we know where code is going kind of right. Its code, is boring, it sits there quietly doing its job. Ai will take over trivial coding tasks it already has for my shop and many others. But Art.

I recently told a friend “we cannot use ai for the art it just does not feel the same, we must contract an artist” but then he entered a prompt, and I hate to say it, I couldnt tell the difference.

This is dangerous, we all know. But that is why im posting this. One voice shouting in the void.

We can use this for evil or we can use it to better ourselves. I don’t think I need to be more specific. In the moment if you want to feel for what side you are on you can. I have many times, I have seen others many times.

We live in an age where every human is given such power. We do not just ourselves but our friends and family disservice when we yield it in vain.
