2 little wires on a filthy 66 block…

These 2 wires were running the “Over-head Paging” system. You know at the grocery store when the voice interrupts the music to say “Bakery dial 100”.

That system. For this Grocery store which shall remain unnamed in North East Philadelphia. For at least 10 years… And another 10, because all we did was splice on at this 66 block point…

2 wires, dusty, corroded, found only by necessity on a contract they called after the other crew failed…

If you take out your magnifying glass you can see the destination side of the block is attached to something much thicker than normal CAT 3-5e… I ONLY WORK HERE. I am licensed and know the “dangers” this situation poses but the old “as it was found” rule… If CAT3 was running the system for 10+ years… I just left it. Like I said, they wanted it online yesterday…
