The panel van of boots vs the idealistic f250 Super Duty…

I’m boring… Boots! Yes, boots… They are important! To myself and many others!

Here I am going to try to condense my 10+ years of boots experience down to possibly help someone! Or just clear my head… I made a nasty LinkedIn comment a few days ago about boots. Theu are just important to me. Idk. Like I said… BORING!

$200 boots are a scam

There, I said it, quit reading. That’s most of my problem with boots. They cost too much. They cost $150+ and they often only last for 1-2 years. Sometimes you get a “good pair” that lasts 5+. But the thing is, I don’t like gambling!

  • Kean
  • Wolverine
  • Timberland

Those are the ones I am talking about… Allegedly someone on your jobsite has “had the same pair of Keans for 6 years and they still look new”. Yeah… bet its the saftey man, not much damage walking back and forth from his lunch box all day…

Pictured here are my current 2 sets. We have expensive, USA made Redwing Irondock or something. We then have unbranded government surplus “specimen x” from Ebay.

I believe these are of equal value functionally. They are for my and my needs. Neither have water proofing. The gov ones are far more comfortable and need less maintance.

Gov ones are ugly, Redwings look Kewl

Yes, I agree. Redwings make you feel like a vintage worker. The gov ones make you feel like idk, a big slab of human meat idk. At the end of the day these are just boots.

At the end of the day no one care what I wear. Except the hospital might have wanted a saftey toe. They say sewing together burger meat is easier said than done…

Conclusion

If you need to “get er done” and don’t care about anything else. $50 will afford you a pair of USA produced cow polymer hybrid foot protective covers. Or you can Affirm the same cow hide but dyed brown for $50 per month for 5 months.

I am a jerk

So is the bank when I overdraft my account…
